Mpewo is an ardent advocate of environmental and climate justice. He believes that the law should be used as a tool to develop society. He has interest in project planning and management in a bid to secure public participation in the protection and conservation of their environments.
Mpewo practices as an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and is a member of the International Bar Association, Uganda Law Society, and East Africa Law Society. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, and a Bachelor of Laws.
He has previously served in various roles at the African Centre for Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture Victims, Development Watch Centre, Global Youth Consortium Against Harmful Practices, Signum Advocates, and the Public Interest Law Clinic. These roles have enabled his growth in advocacy and human rights practice especially around vulnerable groups such as Children, Girls and women, PWDs, the Elderly, Displaced persons, and other minority groups.
He has successfully completed various international fellowships and certifications, including at The African Middle Eastern Leadership Institute (AMEL Project), International Institute of Humanitarian Law (Sanremo, Italy), Aspire Institute (Harvard University), and The Kectil Program Initiative of The Malmar Knowles Family Foundation (KECTIL).
