Greenwatch is an environmental rights advocacy Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) whose establishment was inspired by principle 10 of the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development. At Greenwatch we believe that environmental rights can be better exercised when people have access to information, can participate in decisions that affect their environment, and have access to justice in case their rights are violated. Greenwatch exists to ensure that every Ugandan citizen enjoys their constitutional right to a clean and healthy environment.

Greenwatch has partnered with the Henrich Boll Foundation, Environmental Law Alliance, True Cost Initiative and the Judicial Training Institute to plan, organize and carry out training for judicial officers including Judges and Justices of the Court of Appeal. The impacts of climate change impact have exacerbated the inequalities that already exist in the societies, increasing the gender gap and creating climatic injustices for the vulnerable people.
