By Greenwatch |

The preliminary assessment of the existing laws on plastics and their enforcement report was prepared by Greenwatch, a Non-Government Organization working to better the lives of the citizens of Uganda through advocating for their constitutional right to a clean and healthy environment.

Greenwatch extends its heartful gratitude to the Ministry of Water and Environment, National Environment Management Authority, the Uganda National Bureau of Standards, Environment Police Protection Unit, Kampala Capital City Authority, the Office of the Director Public Prosecutions, High Court of Uganda, Standards Utilities and Wildlife Court; and the Parliament of Uganda for their contribution to the completion of this report.

Greenwatch appreciates the support received from the Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide (ELAW), whose contribution towards promoting grassroot initiatives in protecting the environment continues to impact environmental organizations like Greenwacth. Thank you, ELAW!

Finally, we would like to thank the team at ELAW for their Challenging Plastics in Africa 2022, series which helped to simplify the complex and intricate issues concerning plastics. A special thanks goes to Rye Howard, Bernard Ngalim, Gene Mislang-Tomboc and Pedro Leon Gutierrez.

Asante sana!
