Samantha is the director and legal Counsel at Greenwatch. Her passion for the environment began at a very young age, when she was older the decision to pursue her passion was clear cut. She interned with Greenwatch in 2005 at the time she was still studying for a Bachelor of Laws Degree at Uganda Christian University – Mukono. Thereafter, she joined the University of Oregon Masters of Laws in Environmental and Natural Resources program. In 2013, Samantha worked with the Centre for Environmental Rights in Cape Town South Africa. In 2014, she moved back to Kampala and continued to work with Greenwatch as legal counsel.
Samantha is a practicing advocate with Kakuru and Co. Advocates and a member of the Environmental Law Alliance Network.
Daphine Namanya holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Uganda Christian University (UCU), and a post graduate diploma in legal practice from the Law development Centre (LDC).
Namanya has experience in the areas of petroleum and energy law, environmental law, climate change and taxation law.
Before joining Greenwatch, Namanya worked as a legal associate at Bashasha and company advocates, and as an internship student at Sebalu and Lule Advocates, Bowmans AF Mpanga advocates, and Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs. She also served as a volunteer at compassion international.
Namanya is passionate about combating climate change impacts as well as contributing to Uganda achieving sustainable development. Since joining Greenwatch, Namanya has obtained exposure and vast experience & knowledge in the area of climate change and petroleum law. She has participated in coordinating trainings of judicial officers on climate change justice and sensitizing communities and local government officials on the economic, social and economic impacts of oil and gas projects. Namanya hopes that through her work and practice, individuals and communities will become aware of their environmental rights, and climate change impacts, adaptation.
Namanya is a candidate of the certified tax advisory course (CTA) from the institute of certified public accountants
Holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Conservation Biology from Makerere University.
Prior to joining Greenwatch, Samuel worked with Bukedea Secondary School as a teacher and patron Environment Club. Samuel’s aspiration has always been to contribute to the fight against the effects of climate change and ensure equitable utilization of the world’s natural resources for all generations.
Since joining Greenwatch in 2019, he has espoused the aspects of climate change and has been engaged in training of judicial officers in the climate change justice. Samuel was a polar person in the training and sensitization of the communities in the aspects of natural resource management. He hopes to make significant effort towards alleviating the effects of climate change. Samuel is a member of Uganda Wildlife Society and was the President Makerere University Conservation Biology Association (MUCOBA)

Has interned with City Hall Court and Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs.
Nuwasiima is interested in environmental law, human rights and corporate and commercial law.
While at Greenwatch, she has engaged in different projects regarding climate change activism and coordinating and organizing training for judicial officers, developing concepts note and tool guides for local communities. This experience has improved her knowledge about the same exponentially.
She is enthusiastic about creating a difference in Uganda, Africa and the World through environmental advocacy and is looking forward to achieve the same
Fred Isaac Nandala has vast experience and worked on various projects in the areas of environmental governance, environmental impact assessments, and climate change. Fred has also attended various trainings in Climate change, and forest management and human resource management. Fred holds a Bachelor of Conservation forestry and production technology degree from Makerere University (MAK).
Before joining Greenwatch, Fred worked as a lecturer at Nyabyeya Forestry College, and as an internship student at Uganda Tree Resources Limited-Mbale.
Fred is enthusiastic and seeks to grow his career in climate change and environmental management; and he is also a member of Nature Uganda
